DISC is the virtual home for work done across Dalhousie's faculties on the social sciences and humanities. Its primary function is to support research within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and beyond, through various fellowship programs, publicity and fundraising initiatives, publishing ventures, conferences and lecture series, and cross-disciplinary exchanges. We work to stimulate artistic and cultural innovation, and to develop new knowledge about historical, political, social, cultural and economic relations and practices.
